Luke McKay (1-1) is set to meet Cody Moorman (0-1) in the lightweight division at Saturday Night Fights (SNF) 13 in Regina, Sask., on May 13. Both of McKay’s professional MMA bouts have taken place in the SNF ring — most recently, he defeated Blair Oster at SNF 12 late last year and picked up “Fight of the Night” honours.
“I have never felt so prepared,” McKay said ahead of SNF 13. “I train with an amazing group of guys who support me and keep pushing me.”
McKay’s fight opposite Oster wasn’t exactly an easy outing, despite the fact he got the victory. McKay said he took away a lot from that fight and that it made him a better mixed martial artist.
“I learned a lot from my last fight and I can’t wait to display it in this upcoming fight,” he said.
McKay isn’t worried about what his opponent, Moorman, is doing in preparation for their scrap in just over a week.
“I focus on myself and my game,” he said. “I’m not worried about who I go up against ever.”
